Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College is proud to partner with Target to present the new Target Storybook Series of family-friendly performances inspired by classic and contemporary children’s literature.
The series aims to encourage the development of strong reading skills at home in children ages four to eight. Each show's Parents' Guide contains literacy-based activity sheets, reading tips, and discussion topics designed to give parents the opportunity to engage their children prior to attending the theater, and then again after seeing each show.
By introducing Brooklyn’s young audiences to exciting live adaptations of children’s books, Brooklyn Center hopes not only to entertain and create strong family memories, but also to assist more children in reaching a level of reading proficiency by the end of the third grade.
